SpotboyE.com has learnt that Karan and Mohit have had a difference of opinion on the Hindi adaptation of the Franois Cluzet and Omar Sy-starrer The Intouchables which was supposed to be Mohit's next.
While Karan will still produce the film, Mohit has been asked to quit the project.
Why? "Karan no longer thinks that Mohit is the right man to be at the helm of The Intouchables. This has largely to do with the fact that Mohit's last film Vidya Balan-Emraan Hashmi starrer Hamari Adhuri Kahaani failed to live up to expectations," a source reveals.
Adds the source, "This however does not mean that Karan and Mohit will not work together in future."
Buzz is, Mohit may now direct an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's bestseller Half Girlfriend for Ekta Kapoor. This was actually supposed to be made after Mohit completed Karan's film.
When contacted, Mohit said, "At this point, I am not sure what I am doing next."
